CIPI Communities

CIPI Values

Our communities are all held together by threading the ethics of permaculture into every movement. We had a rare chance to explore community dynamics for a year at our flagship project 'Cornucopia' in 'BETA' mode and is an excellent resource in forging new ways of working with people without monetary exchange.  The current model supports two human tiers.... an ecological micro-business community                                 and a team of volunteers tasked with construction and maintenance....

We have enabled a community of businesses to populate Cornucopia by encouraging and supporting ecological microbusinesses which align with the project goals and by providing premises, electricity and help with key stages in return for a 50/50 share of their produce, products and services which is then fair-shared amongst the community of volunteers in exchange for their work.

Pennyless

We have also reached out to other businesses on the Island of Guernsey to exchange our goods for their services. For example, Isle Maritime offers the use of their keelboats for our volunteers to use to gain sailing experience. Any excess produce in the community chest is sold either on our hedge veg stall or through the Farmshop at Landes du Marche, the money goes to buying goat and chicken feed.
